How to maintain a gasoline engine
Author:
The maintenance of gasoline engines mainly includes the following aspects:
Regularly replace engine oil and filter element: Lubricating oil of any quality level will change during use. In order to avoid faults, the engine oil should be replaced regularly according to the usage conditions, and the oil level should be moderate (generally based on the upper limit of the oil dipstick).
Maintain good crankcase ventilation: Most gasoline engines are equipped with a PCV valve (positive crankcase ventilation device), but pollutants from blow by can deposit around the PCV valve, which may cause valve blockage. Therefore, it is necessary to regularly remove pollutants around the PCV valve to prevent increased fuel consumption and engine wear.
Use lubricating oil of appropriate quality grade: Gasoline engines should select SD-SF grade gasoline engine oil according to the additional devices and usage conditions of the intake and exhaust system, ensuring that it is not lower than the requirements specified by the manufacturer.
Regularly clean the fuel system: Regularly clean the fuel system, control the generation of carbon deposits, and keep the engine in optimal condition.
Maintenance of Three Filters: The three filters (air filter, oil filter, and gasoline filter) play a filtering role in the air, oil, and gasoline on the car engine, thereby protecting the engine and improving work efficiency.
Regularly clean the crankcase: The engine will produce sludge during operation, and the crankcase should be cleaned regularly to keep the interior of the engine clean.
Regularly clean the water tank: Rust and scale can restrict the flow of coolant, reduce heat dissipation, and cause the engine to overheat. Therefore, the water tank should be regularly cleaned to remove rust and scale.
Maintenance cycle and precautions:
Oil change cycle: It is generally recommended to change the oil and oil filter every 5000-10000 kilometers of driving.
Air filter: Replace the air filter every 10000-15000 kilometers.
Gasoline filter: Replace the gasoline filter every 20000-30000 kilometers.
Through the above maintenance measures, the service life of gasoline engines can be effectively extended to ensure their normal operation.
